Counting On Fingers

You don’t need expensive educational toys to teach your child counting. Use your fingers! Count to three using your fingers. Help your child count to three using his or her fingers. Add a number (and a finger) each time your child is ready to learn more. Draw large numbers on a piece of paper, and have your child trace the number with a finger or a crayon. Your child will begin to recognize what numbers look like: the foundations of mathematics. Watch our “Tookah Counts to 8” video. You can “sing” numbers, too, to the tune of your favorite song.
