Mud Painting for Toddlers
Art education at home teaches young children dozens of foundational (basic) learning skills that will give your toddler a head start on later doing well in school. Here's a no-cost art lesson that's messy, but fun: mud painting. Simply stir a scoop of dirt from outside or a flower pot into a kid-safe bowl until it's the consistency of paint. Your young artist can help you stir. Choose.a blank piece of paper, a magazine page or the blank inside of an empty cardboard cereal box. If you don't have paint brushes, small twigs from bushes or trees will do. Let your little artist dip his "paint brush" into the bowl of mud and paint. Confidence inspires learning, so display and praise your toddler's masterpiece when it is dry.
