Toddlers Love Learning About Things That Go!
Toddlers love things that go – from cars and trucks, to empty boxes they can push on the floor, and toy airplanes they can help “go” in the air above them. Toddlers love to go, too, and they can learn so much when they move, jump, spin or bounce outside or inside their home.
Jumping and spinning helps toddlers develop body movements, which help them improve balance and strength. When you show toddlers how to jump, hop or spin, they learn problem-solving. They want to move their bodies to match your movements.
When you confine their go-movements to an old rug or other space you have marked off, they engage in more problem-solving to stay inside the designated space. All of these developing skills will help them during their school years.
Help your toddler learn new words by having them repeat words like jump, go, hop or spin, while you show them how to make those movements. Learning is fun!
